Children and carers at Nkanyezi Yokukhanya Day Care Centre in Mubuza

Why support is needed now

Vulinqondo Day Care Centre has served Bambanani Village for many years and currently cares for 39 children. The centre now needs urgent help to meet local requirements and protect continuity of care.

  • Classroom compliance: a new 10m x 5m classroom is required because the current number of children exceeds the permitted floor-space ratio.
  • Staffing compliance: two carers are not enough for the current number of children; at least three carers are required.
  • Management transition: the current self-supported manager is 79 and will retire soon. A full-time manager is essential.
  • Office requirement: a separate 3m x 3m office is required.

In Mubuza, Nkanyezi Yokukhanya Day Care Centre cares for 33 children in extremely basic conditions. Its classroom, roof, kitchen, food preparation and sanitation needs require urgent support. Its functions are expected to fall under Vulinqondo.
